DESCRIPTION:

This phenomenal trip begins by meeting us at 9:00, to be shuttled up to the top of the river canyon. There you will be outfitted with all the necessary river gear and given a safety orientation by one of our highly trained guides. Before tackling the Chili Bar section of the South Fork American. Stopping for a freshly prepared lunch along the river and getting to camp around 3:30. Giving you time to get situated in camp and enjoy the beautiful grass fields and swimming/fishing holes at camp, before being served a luxurious meal complete with appetizers, beverages (both sangria and non-alcoholic), entree and dessert. Camp out under a thousand stars before waking to a complete breakfast including coffee,tea and orange juice, hash browns, eggs, sausage and fresh fruit. Then as the sun warms the day we get back into our rafts to enjoy the  North Fork of the American River.

The North Fork offers non-stop whitewater action fun, set in a stunning granite canyon. This Class IV/V river is ideal for the thrill-seeking, experienced rafter or athletic beginner. This river offers (almost!) non-stop action for 9 miles as it cuts through a gorgeous narrow granite canyon with back-to-back big rapids. You’ll deftly maneuver around boulders and successfully tackle rapids like Chamberlain Falls, Bogus Thunder, Staircase, Nose Stand and many more. Get ready to paddle with gusto--this run is all hands on deck!

For On the Raft
  • Secure footwear; old tennis shoes or sturdy sandals with heel straps such as Tevas, Keens, and Chacos. NO FLIP FLOPS OR BARE FEET!
  • Swimsuit or shorts and T-shirt to wear on the rafts.
  • Sunglasses with neck strap (Please be sure to bring a neck strap for any glasses you plan on wearing on the raft.)
  • Sunscreen and lip ointment
  • Water bottle
  • Waterproof camera (optional)
  • Light cap or visor (optional)
  • Any medicines you require (please contact us beforehand to ensure we can accommodate any needs)
For After Your Trip

ITINERARY:

Day 1:

Arrival: You will meet us at 9 AM at the private Camp Lotus campground, where you'll meet your guide and be outfitted with everything you need to enjoy your trip, including paddles, life jackets and helmets.

The River: You'll enjoy some of the most fun rapids and beautiful views the American River has to offer. Along the way, we'll stop for a gourmet deli lunch along the river.

Off the Water: You will be return to Camp Lotus between 2 and 3 PM where you will have a chance to enjoy the beautiful camp group. Tents can be provided free of charge, just let your guides know how many you would like. Then relax by the river and utilize Camp Lotus's showers and other amenities while your guides prepare a filling dinner to be served later in the evening.

Day 2:

Morning: Wake up to coffee and following soon after a full breakfast including eggs, bacon, hash browns, and orange juice. Enjoy a leisurely pace and ready yourself for you second day of rafting.

The River: For your second day on the water your adventure starts (start time varies based on permit). The North Fork of the American River offers non-stop whitewater action fun, set in a stunning granite canyon.
