Day one starts with exciting rapids right away on the South Fork American River, including Chile Bar, Meatgrinder, Triple Threat, and the famous Trouble Maker. After a gourmet riverside lunch, you’ll enjoy a scenic float through Coloma before returning to camp for a hot shower, photo slideshow, and a freshly prepared dinner.
After breakfast, you’ll tackle the Class IV Middle Fork American River, known for big drops and technical rapids. Highlights include Good Morning, Kanaka Falls, Bus Crash, and the legendary Tunnel Chute—an 80-foot drop that sends you rafting through a historic Gold Rush tunnel.
After a full day of whitewater and a riverside lunch, the adventure concludes at the take-out. A shuttle returns you to Camp Lotus where you’ll reunite with your vehicles and say your goodbyes.
This begins with you meeting us at 9:30 at the private Camp Lotus campground. After directing your to your campsite for the night, we shuttle you up to the top of the river canyon, providing you with everything you need to enjoy your trip, including paddles, personal flotation devices (lifejackets), helmets, a safety orientation and professional guides. Here the river starts out with thrills right from the start. After practicing our paddling and getting comfortable in the raft you will have the opportunity to surf a hole at Chile Bar rapid, if you choose, before tackling exciting rapids like Meatgrinder, Triple Threat and culminating in the most challenging and exciting rapid on the river, Trouble Maker. Yet even in this stretch our guides have the ability to utilize the river’s features giving you additional thrills or guide you safely and serenely back home, depending on what you are looking for. Along the way we will stop for a gourmet riverside deli lunch skillfully prepared by your guides. After which you can enjoy the calming stretch through historic gold discovery state park in Coloma and back to camp, where we first meet, between 2:00 and 3:00. Once back at camp, you will have the opportunity to relive your experience by watching a slideshow of photos taken by professional photographers, relax on the grass fields or take a hot shower. Enjoy a gourmet dinner before heading to bed to ready yourself for the next day.
Wake up and enjoy a breakfast, freshly prepared by your guides before readying yourself for the day’s adventure.
On day two, the Class IV Middle Fork American River is an intermediate whitewater river offering numerous big drops, intricate technical rapids and tons of action. This is a full day adventure full of whitewater action as well as calm pools that allow you to bask in the breath taking beauty of the 2000 foot deep wilderness river canyon. If all of that isn’t enough the Middle Fork provides the added benefit of its historic significance during the California Gold Rush. You get a bird’s eye view of the canyon as we travel to our put-in. After being fitted with all the necessary rafting equipment and receiving a safety orientation from one of our highly trained guides, we load into our rafts to continue our adventure. It starts off right away with the aptly named “Good Morning” rapid.

Our guide Sara was so impressive. She was engaging and so encouraging to the 5 teens we had on the raft. She made the trip really fun and entertaining for all. The rapids were also fantastic at this time of the year.Posted on Google Renee BannonMay 24, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a blast with MJ last Tuesday. Jumped out on one of the rapids and then was bumped out, but totally worth it and the soreness the next few days was all worth it! What an awesome day!! Thank you.Posted on Google Ready HospitalityApril 21, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We did a Bachelor Party and had a blast! We were one of the few groups on the river due to the poor weather, but it just made it that much more enjoyable. We had Johnny and Walker as guides and they had such electric personalities, I don't think we could have had a better time.Posted on Google Luis GuzmánApril 9, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with this rafting company! The ride itself was incredibly fun, and the scenery along the river was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. We did the full-day South Fork American River trip, and the rapids were exciting without ever feeling dangerous, which made the experience perfect for both thrill and comfort. A big highlight of the trip was our guide, Wyatt. He did an excellent job explaining everything we needed to know in great detail and made sure we felt safe and prepared the entire time. He was also very patient and accommodating, always willing to consider our requests as long as they were reasonable. That really made the experience feel more personal and enjoyable. The lunch provided was also delicious, which was a great bonus after spending time on the river. Overall, I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun, scenic, and well-organized adventure. Definitely worth it!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
