There is something to be said about going with a smaller business. We felt we got the extra TLC that larger companies might not be able to provide. Our family of four had the best day with this company. From start to finish, we could not be more happy with WET! The booking process was easy and simple. They were helpful, friendly, and expedient. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted with kindness and hospitality. Our guide was top-notch! He was experienced, fun, funny, and safe but not too safe. 😉 He somehow managed to make all four of us satisfied, despite our diverse range of experience and comfort level on the rapids. Next time we go rafting, we are definitely going to use WET!

WET is incredible with youth – Even first-timers!

WET puts so much pride in their customer service and quality. From communication in planning to amazing prepped food to an incredible journey down the river, WET was fantastic.

I am the director for a youth non-profit that serves kids from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of our kids had never seen whitewater before in their life. WET’s amazing guides supported our kids in feeling safe, and confident and even taking pride in their newly learned abilities on the water.

It has been all smiles and storytelling about our journey with WET since our return back to the city. Thank you for creating life-changing memories WET (and guides.) The trip was perfect.

My group and I had SUCH a blast with WET River Trips. We are so glad that we booked with this company rather than the other company. The guides all were so happy, nice, and helpful. They all obviously love what they do and enjoy spending time with one another and the customers. The safety tips were perfect. I had never gone white water rafting before but I felt very safe after their instructions and by how knowledgeable and experienced they were. So much went into the trip (guides maneuvering the river, setting up our raft for fun moments, setting up a great lunch, setting up in specific locations to take great photos of us). We just got to enjoy ourselves while they did everything for us. Shoutout to our guide particularly – we absolutely loved her down-to-earth fun vibe and she really set the tone for us to have a great trip! She was very caring and attentive and helped us have a TON of fun, yet safely. The pictures were a little pricey, but we are so glad we got them because they really captured so many funny and epic moments that we can now cherish and relive forever. The photos actually made the rapids look even more intense than they were, so even more bragging rights to our friends! 🙂

Absolutely amazing rafting company! I have been on trips twice with them now and had an outstanding experience both times. Their guides are incredibly friendly, warm, and knowledgeable with a knack for making you feel comfortable no matter what your level of experience is. When I went a couple of years ago, it was my first time rafting so I was a bit nervous when I found out we would be navigating Category 3 rapids, but it ended up being a thrilling experience and I felt completely safe and supported the entire time. Last week was my second time going on a trip with them, and it was just as amazing as I remembered it (our guide was phenomenal). The scenery is breathtaking as you pass through ravines flanked by trees and catch glimpses of stone-lined trails from the gold mining days, and the sound of the river rushing over rocks takes you away from busy day-to-day life. And if you get the lunch/dinner package, their food does not disappoint!

Agree with all the positive reviews. I love that W.E.T. is a smaller outfitter – we were on the river with just our boat, and some of the other companies, literally, had 25 boats out and moving their customers around in a herd.

Our river guide was born and raised in Coloma and we loved her personal anecdotes of the different parts of the river. She shared great insights about the topography, plants, wildlife and navigating the river and is super knowledgeable.

Everyone we interacted with was super friendly, and professional and clearly have been in the rafting business a long time!

This was my fifth trip down the American River with WET and I won’t go with any other rafting company. I always have a great time with WET’s awesome guides and trust them to keep us safe while keeping us endlessly entertained with river facts and cheesy dad jokes (and maybe some “grown-up” jokes tossed in too). Although this was not my first time down the Middle Fork, our guide made this trip fresh and exciting for us by letting our raft play some games with our paddles and “ride the bull” down the rapids. As always, we had a delicious spread for lunchtime, beautifully prepared by talented guides in our pod.

The manner in which WET operates is what keeps me coming back to them. Whether it’s their professional attitude toward their customers and other rafting companies, how seriously they take safety by looking out not just for their own rafters but other companies as well, or the effort they put into keeping their vans sparkling clean, it is clear that WET takes pride in what they do. Thank you for another amazing adventure. I look forward to the next one!

WET is where its AT!

WET River Trips is simply my favorite rafting company on the American – and I’ve gone with several over the years. This is an awesome group of people, start to finish — from Krista to the sweet gals who work the store/registration, to our fun-loving and uber-experienced raft guide, and even the shuttle drivers! This was our fourth trip with them – already looking forward to our fifth. We had four 17-year-olds, and our guide made the day a fun adventure for all – smiles and laughter all around, all day through. Lunch was perfectly timed, and included a birthday cake for my fiance, which was such a lovely surprise and a sweet personal touch that really warmed my heart. Listen, people, go with WET – plain and simple. Take it from someone who’s around doing this for 30+ years! GO WET!

A really really great experience from start to finish!

All the staff was fantastic and always informative. Starting with the phone call to book our trip, to the owner who picked us up from a nearby resort we were camping at, our awesome raft guide, the fresh food lunch, to the awesome rapids!!! Definitely a super great experience for all ages!!! We will be going back for the full-day trip in the near future.

Awesome rafting experience with WET

We did a family trip with WET on the South Fork of the American River in June (Lower Gorge) and had an absolutely amazing time! Our guide was very experienced and skilled, as well as personable, and fun to talk to! He has good knowledge of local flora and fauna and we spent a lot of time on the lookout for cool wildlife. We had kids ages 7-17 and our guide was great with all of them. He took great care to make sure the 7-year-old was in a secure spot in the raft during the most rollicking of the rapids. Most of us had not been rafting before (including me) and he made sure we had loads of fun and knew how to keep ourselves safe! He also made us a fantastic river-side lunch buffet! This is a small long-standing company that clearly cares for its clients as well as it’s employees. Highly, highly recommend WET if you want to have an exciting, fun, non-rushed, and safe rafting experience with a guide that you can have confidence in.
